Care:
During the winter, if you want to keep your planter in the ground, you should elevate it and make sure the drainage holes are clear. This will allow standing water to drain and prevent the planter from freezing to the ground. If the planter is not being used for planting, it should be moved indoors to a garage or shed. If moving to a garage or shed is not possible, follow the steps above, but turn the planter upside down to prevent snow and ice from accumulating. Afterwards, cover or wrap the planter with burlap or any absorbent material (old blankets/towels) and then wrap it in dark plastic to prevent water from accumulating.
