Care:
During the winter, if you want to keep your planters in their pots, you should raise them off the ground and make sure the drainage holes are clear. This will allow water to drain and prevent the pots from freezing to the ground. If the planters are not in use, they should be moved indoors to a garage or shed. If moving to a garage or shed is not possible, follow the steps above, but turn the planters upside down to prevent snow and ice from accumulating. Afterwards, cover or wrap the planters with burlap or any absorbent material (old blankets/towels) and then wrap them in dark plastic sheeting to prevent water from pooling.
